Our Mission

The mission of the First Baptist Church shall be to worship God.  It is our goal to carry out the mandate of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ according to his word. Matthew 28:18-20, by making disciples of all nations.  First Baptist Church seeks to accomplish this goal through the work of evangelism, and the equipping the saints, applying God’s word in our lives through the strength and power and the Holy Spirit.

Our Purpose

The purpose of First Baptist Church shall be to empower individuals through and in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Our hope is for every believer to recognize the abundant life we have in Christ Jesus  (John 10:10.)

Our Vision

First Baptist Church recognizes the need of a wholesome Gospel in empowering people.  Therefore, we seek to improve the quality of life through spiritual, educational, economical, and social means in promoting self-sufficiency through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Statement of Values

During our Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship services, according to God’s Word, you can expect:

A Commitment to Salvation

It is imperative that each member subscribes to the belief of salvation, obtained through faith in Christ Jesus. Therefore, we seek to persuade all men into knowledge, conviction, and acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Together, we strive to live out this faith daily through love, service, and devotion to God.

A Commitment to Equipping

We believe the primary responsibility of the pastor-teacher in the local church is to “prepare God’s people for service,”  Ephesians 4:12. Therefore we seek to equip people for the service of ministry through biblical training, inclusive of Sunday School, Bible Study, seminars and conferences offered to obtain this goal.

A Commitment to God’s Word

We believe the Bible as God’s inspired word, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of Faith and practice for Christians (II Timothy 3:15-17).  Therefore, we commit to utilize it’s content as the resource in equipping Christians, as we promote the Gospel through it’s teaching, and proclamation of the word.

Commitment to Prayer

God’s desires his people to pray and according to scripture, “Man should always pray and not faint” (Luke 18:1).  Therefore, we utilize the power and practice of prayer as our defense to combat the spiritual warfare we encounter.

Commitment to Empowerment

We believe the Church of God must respond to social ills as well as spiritual hindrances. Therefore, we seek to develop people and create an atmosphere where they can use their gifts and talents for God’s glory.

A Commitment to Excellence

We believe our service should reflect the excellence of Christ. Therefore, we strive to present our gifts and talents with excellence for God’s glory, maintaining commitment, sacrifice, and humility as we serve Him and His people.
